My name is Maxime Le Roux, 38 years old, I went to the Ecole Nationale Supérieure Maritime in Le Havre and Marseille, France. I’ve been sailing on merchant marine vessel for 15 years, especially involved in oceanographic mission and offshore works, especially at Jifmar Offshore Services where I’ve been employed as DP2 captain during 5 years.
Starting in 2015, I was trained as a weather router by Pierre Lasnier, a seasoned marine weather forecaster who worked at Meteo France and founded his own company, MeteoMer. Under his guidance, I founded Circum Ocean in 2019, with the idea of consolidating an existing network of weather routers with a strong merchant marine background and solid knowledge in weather routing and oceanography.
Our team, composed of 2 weather router, 2 oceanographers and 1 expert forcaster, oversee a wide range of operations, from ensuring safety during weather sensitive offshore operations up to optimizing ocean crossings for cargo sailboats.
